
Dr. Beasley is the co-founder of this non-profit international
project concerned with providing the latest scientific information on
alcoholism and chemical dependency diagnosis, prevention and
treatment.
Dr. Beasley has been a consulting physician, educator, author,
international lecturer, and policy advisor to the Addiction End Program.
During the past thirty years he has lead both inpatient and outpatient
biobehavioral treatment teams who have been responsible for the
diagnosis and treatment of more than twenty thousand patients with
chemical dependency and/or acute psychiatric conditions.
Dr. Beasley has served as a professor and department head at
Harvard and Tulane Universities, Dean of the School of Public Health
and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University, Chairman of Planned
Parenthood Federation of America and as a member of the National
Commission on Population Growth and the American Future.
More recently, Dr. Beasley advised on the second printing of the
fourth edition of his book, Diagnosing and Managing Chemical
Dependency. This critically acclaimed book for professionals in the
addiction fields was first published in 1990 and was used as a part of
the American Medical Association and A.M.A. T.V. Campaign to
educate physicians on substance abuse.

Mary P.Cheney is the current Director and the co-founder of
the Addiction End Program. Since 1994 she has worked along side
Dr. Beasley and has lectured with him at treatment facilities,
professional seminars and conferences.
Mary P. Cheney has provided research and technical assistance to
several books and web sites published by Addiction End and is the
currently preparing the second printing of "The Big High" which she
co-authored with Dr. Beasley.
Mary P. Cheney's background is in health care and addictions. Her
undergraduate degrees are in Physical Therapy (A.A.S) and
Community Health and Human Services (B.S.) with graduate school
training/certificates in Addiction Studies, Human Resource
Management, and Health Care Management.

- Develop tools (including books, power point presentations, and
booklets) that can be added as an adjunct to any recovery program.
These tools will help renew the body, mind, and spirit, support the
recovery process, and allow the body to repair from the abuse of
addictions.
- Educate the general public, individuals and professionals by providing
scientific information on addiction in a clear manner.
- Provide support for individuals facing addiction and their family
members, and to help aid professionals in the prevention, diagnosis,
and treatment of addictions.
- Help overcome the existing ignorance regarding addictions by
educating the public on addictions and the recovery process.
- Empower professionals, their patients/clients and their families to
understand and help in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of
alcohol, drugs, and other addictions.
The Mother and Child Corporation has been a tax-exempt non-profit
corporation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service
code since its inception in 1974. The Addiction End Program is
developed, maintained and funded by The Mother and Child
Corporation, a nonprofit 501(c) (3) corporation. Profits from any product
sold on the above-mentioned web sites are used to fund the Addiction
End Program.
